Desert Moon Vineyards
Winery Description
Simplicity... our philosophy is that God makes wine and our role is just to keep the bad stuff away and let nature take it's course. From the very first grape that was dusted with natural yeast, all the necessary ingredients were there to make wine. We grow most of the grapes we use at our vineyard in Palisade Colorado. We also support other Colorado growers whenever possible by buying Colorado grapes first whenever we can. In the vineyard we practice sustainable farming with minimal spraying and mechanical farming. In the winery, we use environmentally friendly sanitation methods, and use minimal additions to the wine when necessary. Groovy View
In the late 60's the farm was known as the Groovy View Apricot Orchard because of the incredible views of the Grand Mesa, Bookcliffs and the Redlands. We kept part of that original orchard in an area we call "Dead Horse Corner", but that's another story...
Desert Moon
Desert Moon Vineyards got it's name one summer night after a long drive from Denver. We climbed out of the car and were struck by a full moon, just rising over the Grand Mesa. It was a beautiful clear night and the vineyard was bathed in moonlight.
